Division of Socio-physical Enviromental Inorganic Materials,
Dept. of Metallurgy and Ceramics Science, Graduate School, Tokyo Tech.
In Division of Enviromental Inorganic Materials, we cover studies of basic research for developments of cement based new materials, new quality control systems, application methods of cement based materials, soft chemical processing for advanced ceramics. Construction materials research covers a broad spectrum from rheology, chemistry of cement, advanced cement materials and special cement hydration process , hydrothermal reaction to the properties of hardened advanced cement based materials and the application of special cement admixtures to new construction methods. The laboratory is also strengthening its relationships with manufactures of construction products, the major users of cement and construction materials. We also cover studies of fundamental research for the use of industrial waste products in cement raw materials and cement concrete mineral admixtures. Fundamental studies can lead to the development of new materials and there is a growing emphasis on the technical and economic aspects of the development of construction components and the use of industrial waste products.
